Today, Schiit Audio announced the immediate availability of Eitr 2, a Forkbeard-enabled DDC that converts computers, tablets, and phones to perfect digital sources, and, with the addition of a Forkbeard module, converts DACs to complete digital preamps with volume, balance, parametric EQ, and loudness controls.

Plug in almost any computer, tablet, or phone into Eitr 2’s Unison USB input, and it converts to AES, coaxial, or optical output. These three outputs provide the flexibility to be used with virtually any DAC.

Eitr 2’s power requirements are as flexible as its applications. Eitr 2 can be powered by the USB connection, for a simple, transportable system. Or, if a zero-power-draw USB connection is needed, Eitr 2’s Linear Override power supply uses a standard 6VAC wall-wart to provide power.

Eitr 2 is produced in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Schiit’s own dedicated SMD line, and assembled into chassis produced in California. Schiit is the only US audio company with a state-of-the-art robotic SMD line in-house, which provides us unparalleled production flexibility.
