Purchases, Warranty, and Returns
Buying
Where can I buy some Schiit?
Most people buy right here on the site, but let's break it down:
- Buy via Schiit.com. This is the most popular option. It usually gets you the lowest price.
- Buy via Amazon. We have placed some of our line on Amazon USA as well, so you can use points and stuff.
- Buy via Schiitr. We have one retail store and are in the process of qualifying others.
- Boutique Audio Temple, boutiqueaudiotemple.com. Featuring our 2-channel line, with an emphasis on higher-end products. Contact them for an appointment.
- Buy via international distributors. Distributors have their own prices, policies, and warranties that may not match ours.
- Australia: Addicted to Audio
- Belgium, Netherlands and Europe: Schiit-Europe.com
- Italy: ProAudio Italia
- Norway, Sweden, Finland: Duet Audio
- Philippines: Rotoboxph
- Singapore: Jaben Audio
Do you charge my card immediately, or when you ship?
We won’t charge your order before we ship, though we will authorize your card when you submit your order. The hold on your funds should be dropped after 3 days if we don’t ship before then.
If I order two products and one is in backorder, do you ship the available one separately?
No. Our site calculates shipping rates for all your items together in a single box, so if you want to buy two products and have one shipped earlier, please place two separate orders or contact us for options.
Do you require a signature for delivery?
It depends on the carrier and the service. For FedEx Ground less than $500, no. Over $500, we require a signature by default.
I want you to declare a lower value for customs. Can you do that?
No. Nor will we mark it as a gift.
Can I use a reshipper?
Yes, but please be aware of the following before using a reshipper: (1)The 15-day returns window begins the day that your product is delivered to the reshipper (not to you). (2) You have three days from the delivery of your order to make a claim for any loss or damage incurred during shipping. (3) If your order has a problem then we will be sending the repaired or replaced units to the reshipper (not to you).
Wait, what if the carrier loses/damages/eats my package?
Then you file a claim. Claims through FedEx are simple, quick, and straightforward. Claims through USPS are less so.
What if they say it was delivered, but I can’t find my package?
Contact the carrier for proof of delivery, and file a claim with them if they cannot prove delivery. If you believe it was stolen, contact the police and forward their report to the carrier.
I'm not in the USA, do I pay sales tax?
Nope! You're exempt from our craziness. Also, you don't have to try to claw back any VAT, because we don't have that. So no sales tax and no VAT for international orders.
Warranty
Who pays shipping if I need warranty service?
You pay shipping to us, and we pay shipping back, unless no fault is found. In that case you pay shipping both ways.
Wait a sec, what if I get something that's bad out of the box? You mean I have to ship it back?
If you have a problem within 15 days of receiving the product, let us know and we'll do everything we can to swap it out for you quickly, at no cost to you. However, please note that for trans-shipped products, this will only cover shipping to the trans-shipper.
What if I have an older product that is out of warranty?
We service pretty much everything we've made. Just contact us.
Returns
When does the clock start ticking on the 15-day returns?
When you receive the product, of course.
But I'm ordering something for a holiday, how can 15 days be enough time?
Just let us know with a note on the order, and we'll start counting the 15-days on the holiday. We aren't uncaring machines.
How do I return something?
Just contact us within 15 days of receipt of your order and we’ll give you a return authorization. When we receive your product in its original box, with any accessories intact, in like-new condition, we’ll refund the full purchase price of your product or products, minus a 5%-15% restocking fee (actual amount noted on each product page.) Of course, shipping is not included in the refund—you will pay full shipping to and from your location. Orders returned with damage or in non-stock packaging may be assessed an additional fee for reconditioning.
Do I pay a restocking fee if I want to return a product and get something else?
Restocking is waived if you decide to move up the line during your 15-day trial period--and, of course, assuming you keep the more expensive product.
Can I try every one of your products, and return the ones I don’t like?
The 15-day return is limited to three orders per customer per year, with a maximum of two products per order. Even with our broad line, this should give you plenty of opportunity to try new gear that catches your fancy.
