Introducing Yggdrasil Singular™

Yggdrasil Singular, AKA "Byggy," Now Available; New Upgrade Options for Yggdrasil

October 29,2025, San Antonio, Texas. Today, Schiit announced the availability of Yggdrasil Singular. This is the first DAC to use Schiit's Singular™ converter, a proprietary system based on Schiit's unique closed-form math, as well as a Nexus™ fully discrete output stage. Yggdrasil Singular, AKA "Byggy," also includes full Forkbeard compatibility, two Unison 384™ USB inputs, a new SPDIF processing card with programmable oscillators, and a high-capacity DSP board. This comprehensive change to Yggdrasil is available new for $3499 in black and $3599 in silver finish, or as an upgrade to Schiit Yggdrasil or Yggdrasil+ owners.

"Byggy is the first DAC we know of that uses no pre-done functions," said Jason Stoddard, Schiit's Co-Founder. "While most DACs use USB inputs, D/A converters, and op-amps from other manufacturers, Yggdrasil Singular, or 'Byggy,' uses 100% our technology from input to output."

Byggy is significantly different than previous Yggdrasils
  • Based on Yggdrasil+
  • New Singular™ delta-sigma modulator with fully discrete, fully differential Nexus V™ output analog card
  • New USB input card, with (2) Unison 384 inputs
  • Now Forkbeard enabled with 5-band parametric EQ, volume, balance, loudness—a complete digital preamp!
  • New optimized SPDIF input with programmable oscillators
  • New high-capacity DSP card
The existing Yggdrasil Less is More (LIM) and More is Better (MIB) remain in the line at their current price points and configurations ($2299 and $2799 respectively). New customers also have the option of adding the new Forkbeard and Advanced Inputs package to get Forkbeard and two Unison 384 inputs.

"Everything is also available as an upgrade," added Jason. "Customers can upgrade an Yggdrasil or Yggdrasil+ to Byggy, or they can choose only the Singular analog card, or they can choose only the Advanced Inputs package. Yggy's modularity gives our owners exceptional flexibility.

Schiit is currently fulfilling pre-orders of Byggy placed with the Yggdrasil Owners' Upgrade program this summer. New orders are expected to ship in December.
